The horrific mass shooting in Parkland, FL last month has left
America reeling with grief. Now millions of people across the country
are standing together, demanding change. On March 24, the students and
families of the “March for Our Lives” movement, led by the courageous
students of Majory Stoneman Douglas High School ,will take to the
streets in a nation-wide March to demand that the safety of our children
become a priority.
As leaders of Fight
the Hate ministry, we are deeply grieved by the loss of these innocent
young lives. We are moved by the plea of these students to make schools a
safer place for our children. After much prayer and guidance, we have
decided to take a stand alongside these children who are asking for our
support in this march.
One of Fight the Hate’s
objectives for 2018 (based on Isaiah 58 and Psalms 82:3-4) is to support
the safe schools initiative that was born out of this historic
massacre. Over the next few weeks, Fight the Hate will be looking for
ways that we can partner with schools and churches to help raise
awareness and funds to support our schools in making them a safe place
for our children. We will be launching our “safe schools initiative” on
April 6, so save the date!
